Worship at Westminster
Members and friends of Westminster gather weekly for worship on Sundays at 10 a.m., and for special services throughout the year. We follow a traditional Presbyterian order of worship, incorporating the Word of God through scripture, message and music in each service. The Lord’s supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month, and we invite all who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and savior to join us.
We love visitors, so whether you’re looking for a new church home or simply in the neighborhood, please stop by and join us if you’re able. We encourage busy young families to attend; Sunday school for children preschool through grade 12 is also at 10 a.m., and we provide nursery care for infants and toddlers. Our greeters or ushers would be happy to help you with any questions or needs you might have.
Traditional Service
Members and friends of WPC gather weekly on Sundays at 10am and at other special services throughout the year. The 10am service follows the traditional Presbyterian order of worship incorporating the Word of God through scripture, sermon, and music in each service. The Lord’s Supper (Communion) is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month as well as during all high holidays. We invite all who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to join in participating in Communion.
Taize Worship
First Wednesdays at 7:30pm. We offer a candlelit meditative service in the sanctuary. This service offers an alternative to both traditional and contemporary worship in that it is built around Scripture readings, simple meditative songs, and periods of silence and prayer by candlelight.
Contemporary Praise & Prayer
First Sundays at 3pm. Join us in Harlan Hall for an informal, interactive gathering with high praise and prayer filled with contemporary Christian Worship music. All are welcome!
Special Services
Westminster offers many seasonal worship services throughout the year based on the liturgical calendar. Our services retrace the steps of Jesus’ life and ministry through the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week, and Pentecost.
Childcare
Childcare is provided in our nursery during the 10am service for infants and toddlers up to age 4. We also have a Sunday School program that meets during the service for our older children. All families are welcome as members or visitors. If you would like childcare during the Sunday 5pm or Wednesday Taize services, please make a request with the office at wpcmiddletown@verizon.net. Youth Group activities will begin meeting during the Sunday 5pm service as well. Stay tuned for updates!
